I have described this amp as well as I can based on use and observation. You can dial in a perfect"Crimson and Clover" with ease. Here is your opportunity to possess a genuine piece of the 1960s and the sounds. Note: Guitar shown in last picture is not included in this auction- is for size reference only. This amp is labeled"Checkmate 14" and was built by the Japanese manufacturer TEISCO.
It's a bit more modernistic than most and this model seems quite rare, as I have never seen another on Ebay since. It's probably from the mid to late 1960s. Cometics are excellent with a few tiny flakes at edges of the side panels which are the original splatter texture blackish paint.
#TEISCO DEL REY AMPLIFIER CHECKMATE 12 SOLID STATE SCHEMATIC FULL#
It has a 6 x 9 heavy duty speaker with clear as a bell tone except at full volume, it then get a light overdriven sound which is not too thick. Maximum volume is suited for good practice or could be mic'ed in studio.
Even the foot pedal for tremelo works correctly. It was probably is sombody's closet for decades. This is a very cool little amp standing 19" high x 15" x 8" Is solid state and fully functional with no problems in rarely seen.
